Branigan Library Offers Free Basic Computer Classes in May

The Thomas Branigan Memorial Library (TBML), 200 E. Picacho Ave., offers a variety of free introductory computer classes designed to help adults become more comfortable in today’s digital world , the city of Las Cruces said in a news release.

Registration is optional and walk-ins are welcome, but space is limited.

Classes are held in the computer training room of the library. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop if space permits.

Here are the classes for May:

  • Introduction to Social Media: 2-4 p.m. Thursday, May 12. Learn what social media is and how to use it. You will learn what social media platforms are and tips on how to stay safe while using them.
  • Microsoft Word Basics: 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 17. Learn how to use Microsoft Word, including creating and formatting basic spreadsheets. Basic computer knowledge is required.
  • Microsoft Excel Basics: 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 24. This is a course for those new to using Microsoft Excel. Students will learn how to create and format basic spreadsheets. Basic computer knowledge is required.
