Chatham County Board of Health Seeks Engineer Representative

Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Board of Health will have a vacancy in March 2022 that will need to be filled by a professional engineer who lives in the county. Applicants must have a current North Carolina engineering license, but they do not have to be actively practicing. The deadline to apply is Wednesday February 2, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

The Board of Health is the policy, regulatory and legislative body of the Chatham County Public Health Department. The responsibility of the Board of Health is to protect and promote the health of the community and this is a great way to make a difference.

The Board of Health will make a recommendation to the Council of Commissioners, which will appoint a professional engineer for a three-year term. The appointed engineer will be eligible for an additional three-year term after the first term has expired.

Board of Health meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month, starting at 6:00 p.m., with lunch provided and mileage reimbursement. Meetings do not take place in July and December.
