Councilor Farooq reviews I-Day arrangements in Jammu Division

Jammu: Lieutenant Governor’s Advisor Farooq Khan today reviewed the arrangements put in place by the district administrations for the smooth running of the celebration of the 75th Independence Day in the districts of the Division of Jammu.

The meeting was attended by ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh, Division Commissioner, Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Anshul Garg, IG BSF, DG NCC, SSP Jammu, SSP Traffic, SSP Security, Director Floriculture, Chief Engineer JPDCL, Co-Director Information, Co-Commissioner JMC in addition to senior officers from relevant departments while Deputy Commissioners from other districts as well as SSPs and other relevant district officers participated online.

The adviser asked the deputy commissioners to ensure strict adherence to Covid-related SOPs during the celebrations. He also reviewed the modalities for congratulating the Covid warriors and was informed that selection committees have been formed for this purpose.

Sensitizing officers to their role and responsibilities, the counselor asked them to ensure that all arrangements are made on time in all districts. He insisted on carrying out planting campaigns in the districts in addition to organizing events such as patriotic songs, painting competitions, quizzes, seminars on Independence Day.

The counselor asked DCs to ensure that Independence Day is celebrated with full enthusiasm in Block and Panchayat level schools with the active participation of PRI members. He asked the SSPs to ensure total security of all places of celebration in their respective neighborhoods.

The councilor urged those concerned to ensure the lighting of all office buildings in addition to asking the CDs to follow Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’s schedule of activities and organize events in their respective neighborhoods according to the schedule. .

The Divisional Commissioner informed the Councilor that review meetings are taking place in all districts regarding the celebration of the national event. He informed that the main function will be held at MA Stadium Jammu and the relevant departments have been tasked with making all the necessary arrangements well in advance.

The DCs and SSPs also informed the Councilor of the arrangements in place in their respective districts for the smooth running of the Independence Day celebration.

Tug-of-war discussions took place on other important issues such as traffic, security passes, seating arrangements, decoration, office lighting, power and water supply, l ‘sanitation, health insurance facilities, invitation cards, cultural activities with instructions to those concerned to make adequate arrangements for this.
