Leaving the town of Las Cruces

The Thomas Branigan Memorial Library presents “Make a Scene”, a two-day workshop to visualize and translate a pre-determined scene from a book onto a canvas.

The library will provide canvases and painting materials. April’s scene will come from “Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens. The group will read an evocative scene from the book and have access to the text as a reference to complete their canvas.

All levels of artistic ability are encouraged to attend, no judgment, just fun! This event will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 12, 2022 and April 13, 2022 at the Munson Senior Center, 975 S. Mesquite St.

Participants are encouraged to wear a paint smock or clothing they are not afraid of being painted on. Registration for this workshop is on the Branigan Library Events Calendar at

This program is for the 50+ community and will be conducted in person at the Munson Senior Center, 975 S. Mesquite St. Face masks are encouraged.
