Robbery suspect killed in Quebec shooting – Manila Bulletin
Police have killed a gunman in a suspected shooting, hours after he and two cohorts robbed a bus driver in Quezon City on Friday February 25.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) identified the slain suspect as 21-year-old Francis Morales, a resident of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
Police say bus driver Antonio Corpuz, 60, sought help from QCPD Fairview station (PS 5) after the three suspects, who were acting as passengers, declared a hold-up while They were on the bus along Regalado Avenue in Quezon City around 11 a.m. Friday. The suspects took 2,000 pesos in cash from the bus driver and fled.
PS 5 immediately conducted a chase operation and spotted Morales walking along a sidewalk at the corner of Dodge and Fairlane streets in Brgy. Greater Fairview around 1:50 p.m.
Cops ordered Morales to relent after being identified by the victim.
The suspect, however, suddenly pulled out a gun and fired at the officers. Officers returned fire, killing him.
Police recovered the suspect’s pistol from the scene along with a magazine, three live ammunition, two fired shell casings, a black shoulder bag with identification cards, four cell phones and 3,000 pesos in cash.
Pollsters are still trying to establish the identity of the other two suspects who managed to escape.
