“Journey to the Cross” in Greenfield, Wilkinson

HANCOCK COUNTY – ‘Journey to the Cross: An Easter Experience for Families’ features a series of scenes from biblical times to depict the last days of Jesus’ life.

This free interactive event winds through different stations.

-Tours are available from 1-5 p.m. April 9 at Park Chapel Christian Church, 1176 E. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. Park Chapel and Brandywine Community Church are working together to present the event. Each guided tour lasts 45 to 50 minutes. Reserve a time slot at

-Wilkinson Church of Christ is also offering its own “Journey to the Cross” event from 2-4 p.m. April 9 at the church, 7293 N. State Road 109, Wilkinson. This event includes candy, crafts and lunch. Learn more at

Community Service Day is looking for volunteers

GREENFIELD — Several churches are teaming up for a day of community service from 9 a.m. to noon on April 9. The goal is to mobilize 500 volunteers for tasks ranging from painting a bridge to building a safety net on a baseball field. You can choose from the jobs available at

Brandywine Community Church, Trinity Park United Methodist Church, Park Chapel Christian Church and Brown’s Chapel Wesleyan Church are the partner congregations for the event, but anyone interested in serving is welcome.

Today’s breakfast includes the Easter Bunny

EDEN – Eden United Methodist Church will serve breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April 2 at the church, 2122 E. Eden Road, Greenfield. This month’s breakfast will feature the Easter Bunny. Donations are accepted, with proceeds going to local and global missions.

Bradley plans a blood drive

GREENFIELD — A blood drive is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Monday across from Bradley United Methodist Church. The Versiti Bloodmobile will be parked in the parking lot at the southwest corner of Main and Pennsylvania streets.

Sold Out Love INC Banquet Tables

GREENFIELD — Love INC’s Love Thy Neighbor Banquet is scheduled for Friday night at Trinity Park United Methodist Church, but tables are sold out. The organization’s website,, advises those interested to call 317-468-6300 to inquire about individual tickets, which cost $40 each.

Kindergarten offers breakfast at the wheel

GREENFIELD — Faith Lutheran Preschool will host its annual Spring Drive-In Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on April 9 at the preschool behind Faith Lutheran Church, 200 W. McKenzie Road.

Tickets are $10. The menu includes scrambled eggs, cookies and gravy, cinnamon rolls and a fruit cup.

The next lunch is April 13

WILKINSON – “Russ’s Table” will next meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on April 13. It’s a free lunch with friends of all ages. The gathering takes place on the second Wednesday of each month at Wilkinson Church of Christ.

Churches offer egg hunts

-Mt. Comfort Church Easter Egg Hunt, April 9 at 10 a.m., 3179 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield. The event includes age group hunts, crafts, door prizes and the Easter story.

-Helicopter Egg Drop, 12:30 p.m. April 9 with hunt beginning at 1 p.m., Fortville Church of the Nazarene, 701 S. Maple St., Fortville.

-Riley Park Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by Bradley United Methodist Church, 10 a.m. April 16, Riley Park, Greenfield.
