Theresa Caputo to channel ‘the spirit’ to the Civic Center

The self-proclaimed medium has built a decades-long career in delivering messages from the afterlife – personalized, she says, with details coming from a recipient’s loved ones.

During her live shows, Caputo conveys messages from a form of “sixth sense” that she calls mind.

Her next stop on the “Theresa Caputo Live! The “The Experience” tour will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Mayo Civic Center and will be pretty much the same.

We’ve all lost something in the last 18 months, ”she said. “Maybe it wasn’t a person, but maybe it was faith or hope or the will to continue.”

We met Caputo on the mid-pandemic tour, the skepticism and the parallels between starting his career during 9/11 and now.

How has the tour been so far?

It was great ! With the people I have met, I said the only difference is that we wear masks. Everything is back to normal, and I feel grateful to be back to work and being able to feel people, especially during this pandemic.

How has the pandemic affected your audience’s interests or the type of questions they ask you?

Usually when I’m doing my readings – and if someone comes to my live show, you’ll see – people usually don’t ask me questions. It is the Spirit who communicates, they only respond to the messages of the Spirit. It’s interesting, because how I started this job – how I embraced and knew this was my soul’s journey – was after 9/11. People had died and no one knew what had happened to their loved ones. Many people have not even been able to recover the physical bodies of their loved ones. And that’s when I put my gift into God’s hands and said, “I will use my gift for peace and healing. So, people know that no matter how someone leaves the physical world, their soul is at peace and always with us. … So I think for a lot of people who could have lost someone during COVID, to COVID or just died during the pandemic, they couldn’t let their loved ones rest as they had hoped.

We just celebrated the 20th anniversary of September 11th. What are the biggest changes you have seen in these two decades?

Where do I start? I learn each time I channel the Spirit. My gift changes every time I channel, it’s really amazing. … I have realized over the years that this has nothing to do with me. It has to do with the Spirit. They just use my physical body as a vessel to deliver messages, and it’s up to the person to take those messages and decide how it fits into their life, so they can use it in the healing process. . I have learned that we will mourn the loss of our loved ones all of our lives in the physical world. And we have to heal from it. And we don’t always know how to do it. We think we need to take these steps, and we just don’t. I tell people what I have learned is that we have to heal on our terms. As long as we don’t harm ourselves or someone else, or care for ourselves, then we can feel what we need. … If we let go of negative memories or emotions, it doesn’t mean that we don’t honor our loved ones, it means that we start to heal from them.

What do you hope the public will take away from your appearance at the Civic Center?

I hope they take away that there is truly more to life than the physical world, more importantly, that their loved ones are always with them. All the little things that are going on around them, things that they think are weird or weird, or maybe just a coincidence, (they) may know that’s not the case. These are the souls reaching out to us, letting us know that they are with us at this precise moment.

What do you say to people who are skeptical about your career?

I understand. I’m the first to say what I’m doing is crazy. There is no way anyone can communicate with someone who has passed away. But every time I channel a spirit … The spirit will speak about something that I could not personally know. The Spirit will speak about our personal feelings. Things that we have witnessed and seen. And it’s not about people who believe in me, or what I do. I want them to believe in themselves, I want them to believe in an afterlife. We fear or don’t believe things where there is no explanation. … We can’t see it. But there is energy all around us that we cannot see, but we know it is there. It is the same with the soul. … I like when skeptics say how I do this, because I don’t even know how it works. All I know is that when I start to give a speech, I feel that my own personal thoughts, feelings and experiences are clearing up… and it is only about the souls of the deceased, of Spirit and the person I’m reading. … I just feel like when we lose someone, we lose so much faith and hope. And we deserve this, we deserve this hope and this peace.
